General Xie

General Xie was garrisoned in the fortification of Silverhold when Emperor Kuang was found dead. When the political and economic chaos began, Xie was lucky to find himself sitting on a mountain filled with rich veins of gold, silver, and jade. Rather than involve himself in the chaos, Xie decided to live like a king. He paid off mercenaries, horselords, and the many peasants in his territory and set about mining the rich veins for his own benefit. His nearest neighbors were Generals Feng, Ren, and Lam. In order to consolidate the rich minerals he rushed east across the song mountains and straight into General Ren.

The two fought for a few short years until Xie was the clear victor. By that point, the Imperial Consort Chunhua had been found and executed and it was clear that the chaos was going to stay. As Feng's territory was located east of a gap in the song mountains, Xie worked to consolidate his territory and build fortifications. That was when General Lam attacked. The two fought for a number of years. Although Lam made many attempts to climb the mountains and take Xie's precious metals, Xie was always able to push him back with the aid of mercenaries and roving Horselord bands.

He planned for many years how to cross the eastern gap and take Feng's territory but could never gather the men he felt was adequate enough to storm his neighbor. In the 20th year of the Civil War, Feng was killed by one of his neighbors, Chao Ling. Xie rushed what forces he could into the region hoping to fight back Chao Ling before he could cement his foothold, but strangely found that Chao Ling had largely pulled out of the Feng's territory. After General Li began occupying the mountains as well, Xie tried to push his opponent out. After an intense year of fighting the two agreed to a cease fire. Many of the peasants that had served Lord Feng for many years rose up in anger at Xie's occupation. Since then Xie has heard rumors of a pretender who claims to be Emperor Kuang's heir. He now seeks to crush the imposter and end the rebellion once and for all.
