General Chao Ling

Chao Ling was one of 10 generals that had comprised Emperor Kuangs upper military ranks before Kuang's mysterious death. Without a clear leader, the ten generals fell to fighting in what is the current civil war. General Chao Ling took up a position in the southern city of Lin Chuntian. Fifteen years ago after the execution of Kuang's consort Chunhua, Chao Ling joined forces with Li to fight General Bao outside the Capitol of Ju-Xian. The two generals were successful and were able to kill Bao and then agreed to a non-aggression pact that left that area of the kingdom relatively stable.

Five years later, Chao Ling and Colonel Yang's predecessor General Lam came into conflict over territory along the Red Clay river. The fight lasted 3 years before Chao Ling was able to kill General Lam. Yang was able to recover a strong position at Red Cliff and was able to fight Chao Ling back. The two had been in a stale mate for many years until the Empire of Vaneha began colonizing the Kingdom of the Crystal Chrysanthemum 5 years ago.

The Sakada clan of Vaneha came in with a vengeance and crushed General Yee's very quickly. The Sakada then invaded both Colonel Yang and Chao Ling's territory. The conflict came to a stalemate over time as the Sakada clan over extended themselves. In the 20th year of the civil war, General Chao Ling led an expidetion deep into General Feng's Territory where Chao Ling was able to kill Feng at Ironwatch. Chao Ling's forces also attacked the monastary of Fengbao Yunsi and SaFu Village. Reports have suggested that he was aided by resources and agents of the Realm. He has since retreated from most of Feng's territory and has since marshaled his forces towards the Sakada clan and pushed them back across the Red Clay River.
